Team Overview
The Retail SMA business spans across 25+ sponsor platforms and is comprised of roughly 426,000 accounts with $163 billion AUM. The Onboarding team leads the onboarding of portfolios and directs critical change events such as strategy/title changes, terminations, benchmark updates etc. within the retail channel. Onboarding synchronizes internal BlackRock teams (sales, portfolio management, investment operations, and corporate functions) across all regions.
As a team, we deliver predictable and risk-controlled launch and change events by leveraging our knowledge of BlackRock’s operating environment and following a structured implementation approach. As a function that sits within BlackRock’s GIO team, we pride ourselves on strong client interpersonal skills with a keen focus on the end client experience. Onboarding also owns and maintains key systems that serve as the firm’s portfolio masters. We are business partners who play an active and transparent role in delivering an outstanding client experience on behalf of the firm.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. Beginning in September, all employees will shift to at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. We remain focused on increasing the impactful moments that arise when we work together in person – aligned with our commitment to performance and innovation. As a new joiner, you can count on this hybrid model to accelerate your learning and onboarding experience here at BlackRock.
