The Workforce Advisory Service is currently looking for an experienced HR Manager. This is a great opportunity to expand and/or transfer your skills and to work with the team to strengthen the service and look towards the future.

HR Managers play a pivotal role in ensuring that our employee relations service is professional and efficient. Leading by example our HR Managers are responsible for providing a comprehensive, diligent, accurate and timely service.

You will be adaptable to the different circumstances encountered, be able to work autonomously and be empathetic in your style. You will be up to date with employment legislation and able to use this knowledge to contribute to ensuring our policies remain compliant and represent best practice.

To provide a specialist support, guidance and advice to staff across the Trust so as to ensure their employment issues are addressed and resolved in a timely and efficient manner, reflecting the policies, values and principles of the Trust and within the legal framework of employment law being mindful at all times to protect the organisation from risk of litigation.

The Workforce Advisory Service is a team of experts who provide further advice on all employee relations matters including:

• Complex case management support
• Policy development/regulation
• Equality and Diversity
• Change management / consultation
• Employment Law compliance

To provide effective support to management at all levels and staff in the core areas of HR provision including:

• Effective absence management across the division by ensuring that management apply the policy fairly and consistently to all staff.
• Handling formal grievance and disciplinary processes and appeals.
• Delivery and development of training programmes as required.
• Keeping up to date with changes in employment legislation and good practices.
• Providing clear and sound advice on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures to management whilst encouraging them to act independently and competently regarding the management of their staff.
• Always challenging poor practice and addressing under performance through the appropriate channels.
• Providing the relevant support and advice for the effective management of restructuring through staff engagement and consultation.
• Working in partnership with representatives from each of the recognised Trade Unions to develop and promote good working relationships with staff side.
• Participation in the development of new policies and procedures ensuring that all policies reflect the latest employment legislation.
• Update and report on monthly employee relations data for Trust Board information
• Participation in Agenda for Change panels for new and re-banding of job roles as required.

HR Managers support the Workforce Advisory Service in delivering a comprehensive, efficient and professional Human Resources service to Trust staff at all levels and to manage the day to day operation of the HR office to support the Workforce Directorate and Trust in achieving their strategic and operational objectives.
