Located on Gadigal and Bidjigal land (Randwick NSW), Black Dog Institute is the only Medical Research Institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone. Emphasising a devoted focus to into suicide prevention, digital mental health, a workplace mental health, we undertake a unique ‘translational’ research approach that allows us to turn our world-class findings into new treatments, prevention strategies, clinical services, educational programs, and e-health products.We join the dots by connecting research answers, expert knowledge, and the voices of lived experience to deliver solutions that impact and boost the health care system for patients and practitioners alike. The Role

Provide a high standard of research, administrative and care support to a broad range of clinical service users and research participants. Undertake literature searches, manage participants. And assist with recruitment. Prepare and editing research reports and manuscripts, data entry, coding, and analysis. Play a supporting role in the submission and maintenance of ethics forms and resources, and general research support duties.

Key Duties

• Review literature and relevant evidence
• Data collection, entry, coding and analysis of quantitative, and potentially qualitative data
• Assisting with ethics applications/amendments and responding to queries from research ethics boards
• Maintain and monitor the clinical research participant database
• Assist with development of written materials, including preparing and editing research and project reports, manuscripts, and presentations

About You

• Bachelor’s Degree with Honours (or above) in psychology, health sciences, social sciences, or a relevant scientific discipline
• Experience in data collection and analysis using both qualitative and quantitative research methods and experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, STATA, NVivo)
• Experience undertaking literature searches and writing research reports and/or manuscripts
• Awareness of confidentiality and other principles appropriate to healthcare services and clinical research settings
• An ability to work both in a team and independently while meeting deadlines, managing time effectively and adapt to changing priorities
