You will be reporting to the Head of Digital Education and be responsible for managing, developing and supporting our existing suite of tools, as well as responding to the evolving educational landscape around us to help shape future provision.
Birkbeck has just launched a new five-year strategy which sets out a plan for ambitious change including a strong focus on high quality, flexible education. This means aligning our digital education portfolio in the most productive and effective way to help us achieve this. We have recently built a team to nurture and develop this model across the institution, we’d love you to come and join us and play a part in shaping our future!
The role might be attractive to someone looking to have more influence over the strategic direction, make-up and design of the portfolio or a more experienced person who likes the idea of operating in a dynamic and agile environment where you can make things happen.
No matter which one you are, you must be passionate about the potential of technology to enhance learning and teaching, have some experience and expertise in administering the Moodle VLE (hosted) and other tools within our primary toolset (e.g. Panopto for video production and storage, BB Collaborate Ultra and MS Teams as conferencing solutions etc), be a good problem solver and have experience of working with 3rd party vendors.
Your job will also ensure that our staff feel supported with the growth in their use of technologies online, and in the classroom, by working directly with academic and administrative colleagues in schools and centrally.

Remuneration:
Grade 7 of the College’s London Pay Scale which is £39,173 rising to £44,775 per annum.
The salary quoted is on the College’s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
