We have excellent opportunities for Associate Tutors on the following module/s:
You will be expected to teach the postgraduate compulsory module Introduction to Quantitative Social Research. This module is designed for students with no background in mathematics or statistics and aims to help them understand the statistical data that are used in public debate, and find data relevant to questions they are interested in. You will have knowledge and experience using Excel and R or other statistical packages and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).
Further to the person specification, essential requirements for this role are:
You will need a reasonable level of numeracy but no advanced statistical knowledge. Some experience in using Excel and R or other statistical packages is necessary, and it would be ideal if you are a Mac user as this would complement the PC skills of the module convenor.
You will have knowledge of political ideas and experience of teaching undergraduates. You will be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).
You will have knowledge of contemporary issues in global conflict and security studies and experience of teaching undergraduates. You will be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

Remuneration
Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College (starting rate £54.10 per hour inclusive of pro-rata London Allowance and holiday pay) for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 6 and is inclusive of a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
