Birch Tree Academy Hiring for STEM-Based Kindergarten Teacher Full Time

Birch Tree Academy is a STEM-Based preschool in Bellevue. We provide a balanced approach to learning, giving a child a chance to develop cognitively, socially, and creatively. In an interactive and engaging environment, our passionate and encouraging teachers give children endless opportunity to imagine, learn and grow. We place a strong emphasis on academic development as well as discovery and exploration of everyday wonders through our thematic programs, which encompassed all subject matters. All children also receive specialist lessons each week: art, music, drama, cooking and gymnastics.

We are looking for an amazing Kindergarten teacher for our program.

Responsibilities:

• Teach a class of 12 kindergarten students
• Plan and teach daily activities and lessons that correspond with the curriculum in Math, Phonics, Science and Engineering
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests. Differentiation is very important.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment
• Help students learn classroom rules and procedures, as well as personal responsibility and respect for fellow students.
• Use appropriate behavior management and classroom discipline.
• Plan and supervise class projects, field trips and visits by guest teachers
• Establish consistent communication with parents and children. Write weekly class and individual student updates to parents
• Work classroom contact hours of 9:00 am to 3:30 pm M-F.
• Work school year of Sept 1st through June 15th plus additional 2 weeks or preparation for school year

Education and Skills:

• Washington State teaching certificate

• At least 2 years’ experience teaching elementary school, preferably Kindergarten
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Flexibility and positive attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
