Big Trout Brewing Company, Inc. Hiring for Line Cook at Winter Park, Colorado Full Time

(Pay is DOE, $16 is starting wage)

Big Trout Brewing opened June 2020 and is a fun, fast paced brew pub. We are currently seeking full time cooks to join our team! The perfect candidate will have a passion for craft beer, tasty food, and a positive, high vibe attitude.

Basic Job Functions:

• Work independently in a fast paced, small kitchen environment
• Wash dishes and bus when the food orders slow in the kitchen
• Prep all food for the day
• Properly store food throughout the day and at close to ensure food temperatures are kept at the appropriate levels.
• Prepares a variety of vegetables, deli meats, cheeses, pizzas, and other food items for cooking in the pizza oven, crock pots, microwave and other kitchen equipment.
• Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of the products served.
• Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
• Maintains a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
• Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
• Follow proper plate presentation for all dishes.
• Minimizes food waste and records food waste for proper reporting.
• Recommends ways to improve efficiencies, food quality and preparation in the kitchen.
• Washes cookware when not in use and dishes returned from guests throughout shift. Maintains a clean dish washing area and ensures dishes are clean and dry before returning to the shelves.
• Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
• Opens and closes kitchen when requires according to checklist for each procedure.
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings, and brings suggestions for improvements.
• Understands and follows all Health Department regulations and rules.
• Assists in maintaining and cleaning all storage areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

• ServSafe certification required
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent desired.
• Positive attitude a must!

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

• Must love all things beer!
• Knowledge of food and beverage equipment required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• This position may be required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching and speaking a constant basis
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests and employees
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length at a time over an over shift of 8 hours
• While performing duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to climb, balance and taste or smell
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on a regular and continuing basis
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to non-slip footwear and gloves.

We are actively cleaning, sanitizing and ensuring social distancing measures are in place at all times in our establishment.  Masks and gloves and other PPE are an important part of this when required by the county.
