About the Role

Due to the retirement of the current Chief Financial Officer, an exceptional opportunity exists. As the Chief Financial Officer you will partner with the Chief Executive Officer to deliver on Big Fat Smile’s strategic plan, vision and values, whilst ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of the organisation. The Chief Financial Officer will lead with integrity and be accountable for Finance, Payroll, Digital Resources and Services, Facilities Management and Work Health and Safety, Internal Audit and Risk.

The ideal candidate will:

• Lead, direct and deliver Big Fat Smile’s financial strategy, budgets, policy and management accounting services, including Board, statutory, audit and other external reporting
• Provide high-level advice to the board, CEO and Executive Leadership Team. Oversee the annual budgeting, forecasting, reporting and statutory compliance functions. As part of the Executive Leadership Team, you will partner with cross-functional leaders to drive the overall strategic development of the organisation. Demonstrated analytical skills along with highly tuned business acumen and strategic thinking
• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team on critical projects, growth and strategic outcomes for the organisation
• Providing commercial support to business unit leaders
• Initiate and drive change improvements in IT, Procurement, Finance and systems
• Oversee general accounting and reconciliations, compliance management and tax management
• Develop strategic goals, both financial and non-financial, to drive administration and support from a cost efficiency and service level perspective,
• Provide high-level specialist advice to the Chief Executive Officer on financial management, budget, governance and compliance matters
• Oversight the Digital Resources and Systems Strategy, Workplace Health and Safety data points, the Internal Audit and Risk strategy and our facility management approach
• Deliver timely information and advice to internal and external stakeholders and management that enables an informed and commercially savvy culture
• Possessing a commercial orientation, with an engaging, positive leadership style will be essential to successful performance in the role

Qualifications and Working approach

• CA/CPA Qualified
• Maintain a valid paid Working with Children Check through the Office of the Children’s Guardian (or willing to obtain)
• Have strong influencing, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to anticipate issues and develop sound issue management mitigation strategies
• Capability to interpret & present complex information in concise ways
• Have a versatile and action orientated mindset
• Exceptional communication skills across multiple layers of management
• You will possess a collaborative leadership style, with an ability to lead and enable a strong results-oriented team.
• Able to uphold, instil, and be an active representation of the organisations brand integrity, behaviours, core values and culture
• Able to provide evidence from the Australian Immunisation Register that you have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination, or a medical contraindication
