This position will work out of Holland MI., which is the site of Big Dutchman, Inc’s. North American headquaters, and is not a remote opportunity. Big Dutchman Inc. provides a complete line of poultry, egg, and swine production equipment around the world. With 85 years of experience, Big Dutchman is the global leader in the development of new technology for the industry. We are currently looking for a Product Line Manager to support our Broiler/Breeder unit. Responsibilities:
· Organize, plan and prioritize the implementation of new product creation as well as the continuous improvement & maintenance of current product lines.
· Lead new projects through R&D, Engineering, Sales, and After-Sale Service.
· Identify & coordinate the implementation of new product requests through regularly scheduled product review meetings.
· Conduct market research to define customer needs and cost targets using field sales and customer input data.
· Maintain competitive intelligence.
· Work closely with vendors to monitor and adjust inventory levels to insure timely delivery according to customer requirements.
· Collaborate with field sales & sales support in application and custom modification of standard products offerings.
· Review and help resolve customer concerns and initiate product changes to eliminate future problems.
· Optimize product portfolios to improve growth and/or profitability through cost analysis and margin improvement initiatives.
· Ensure products meet or exceed proper safety and industry standards.
· Work with departments to ensure proper communication and training product bulletins, current pricing, service and maintenance manuals, & promotional materials.
· Responsible for the full line of poultry products including auger &chain feeding, mechanical nests, suspension / winching, feed distribution and weighing, watering systems, climate regulation, & controls
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science, Engineering or Agricultural Engineering, Poultry Science, or General Business
· Minimum 5 years of product management experience
· Must possess mechanical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail
· Previous supervisory experience preferred
· Ability to collaborate and coordinate projects across people and functions
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Experience with broiler and breeder equipment a plus
· Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
