As a dragline operator of a Manitowoc 4600, your duties would typically include:

Equipment Operation: You would be responsible for operating the Manitowoc 4600 dragline, which involves controlling the movement and functions of the machine to excavate, lift, and load materials. This may include operating the dragline’s hoist, swing, and drag functions, and using the controls to maneuver the machine accurately and efficiently.

Material Excavation: You would be responsible for excavating materials, such as soil, rock, and other materials, using the dragline bucket. This may involve positioning the dragline in the appropriate location, lowering and raising the bucket to dig into the material, and swinging the bucket to deposit the material in designated areas.

Equipment Maintenance: You may be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on the Manitowoc 4600, such as checking and replenishing fluids, inspecting and lubricating parts, and identifying and ing any signs of wear or damage. You may also need to perform basic troubleshooting and notify maintenance personnel of any repairs or replacements needed.

Safety Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations is paramount. You would need to follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhere to lockout/tagout procedures to prevent accidents or incidents. You may also need to any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors or safety personnel.

Communication: You would need to communicate effectively with other team members, such as oilers, maintenance personnel, and supervisors. This may involve coordinating with the oiler for maintenance needs, following instructions from supervisors, and maintaining clear communication during material excavation operations.

Record-keeping: Keeping accurate records of equipment hours, maintenance tasks, and other relevant information is important for tracking the performance and maintenance history of the Manitowoc 4600. You may need to maintain records and submit s as required by company policies or regulatory requirements.

Training: You may need to train and mentor new operators or other team members on the operation of the Manitowoc 4600, including proper equipment handling, safety procedures, and best practices.
