Bialik College Hiring for Informal Jewish Educator Job at Australia Full Time

The Position

Reporting to the Head of Informal Education, your mission is to develop and implement informal activities to enhance and enrich the student experience. Seeking a Part-Time (4 days per week) or Full-time Informal Jewish Educator working Term Time Only, commencing in Term 3 2022.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Organise and lead informal education events such as chaggim, commemorative and celebratory days, camps, seminars and the relationship with Israel.
• Develop and coordinate Jewish informal education activities e.g Shabbatonim, holiday celebrations, informal curriculum and special Jewish events.
• Assist the students in planning and supervising their Jewish identity programs and activities.
• Oversee the preparation of Chaggim activities and commemoration services
• Coordinate school camps, life-skills seminars.
• Run lunchtime and after school activities.
• Teach informal Jewish Studies classes.
• To act as the ‘champion’ of the Jewish Life department.

The Person

• Significant prior experience in a Jewish youth movement, Jewish communal organisation, or educational institution.
• A pluralist outlook respecting a range of different steams of Judaism.
• Outstanding ability to communicate and inspire.
• Demonstrated contribution to Jewish life.
• A willingness to work in the evenings and on weekends, as required.
• Ability to join end of Year student trip to Israel is highly desirable
