Location and ing Structure

ing to the Supervisor, Open Pit and Earthworks , this position will be a fly in- fly out 3×3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Working with the Open Pit Supervisor for operation in the open pit including loading trucks, working with the crusher operations, and other open pit mine related duties in a production environment;

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of loaders to move and load quarry rock and, or other materials as required during construction and related activities;

Conduct and document pre- and post-operational inspections on equipment and any deficiencies to Supervisor or designate;

Perform routine maintenance of equipment such as clean, lubricate, and refill equipment;

Work with multidisciplinary crew to ensure the ongoing development and construction of the Back River Project and maintain cleanliness of project areas;

Operate 2-way radios and liaise with project teams as required; and

Promote compliance to B2Gold Nunavut’s site safety procedures and policies.

Competencies and Requirements

Five (5) years’ experience operating heavy equipment in construction and/or open-pit mining environment with significant experience operating loaders;

Experience working in and around crushing operations related to quarry work;

Completion of a Heavy Equipment Operating ticket preferred;

Completion of High School Diploma or GED;

Ability to move, lift, and carry up to 50lbs and ability to walk up to (but not limited to) 5km daily in adverse weather conditions; and

Ability to read, comprehend, write, and converse to ensure safe working conditions on site.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $115,752.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $42.00 and overtime rate of $63.00) in a work year.

B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.

Due to high occupancy during this phase of construction the successful candidates(s) may be assigned shared accommodation. In this event, the incumbent(s) will be eligible for a $40.00 per day shared accommodation allowance.
