The Role

To support our ongoing growth at BG&E Resources, we are seeking an Assistant Accountant who is looking for that next step with their career. As a key member of the finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager you will assist with all accounting and have input to finance policies and procedures involving the maintenance of a precise general ledger, analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts, and management of transactional flows.

Role responsibilities will include:

• Assist in preparing company tax returns
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal control systems
• Preparing reports, supporting external audits, and conducting ad hoc financial investigations
• Preparing and reviewing all account to trial balance
• Managing and supporting project management, accounts payable and receivable teams
• Support payroll and human resources function
• Supporting and communicating with staff at all levels across the business.

About you

• CA or CPA qualified with 2+ years experience
• Experience in a similar role preferably in an engineering or construction environment
• Experience in accounts payable/receivable, project accounting and/or month end accounting
• You are driven, naturally motivated, proactive and keen to join a growing company and a progressive team!
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to work independently
