Beyond Education Tutoring Hiring for Secondary English Tutor Job at Manchester, England Full Time

THIS POSITION IS NOT REMOTE. TUITION TAKES PLACE AT OUR TUITION CENTRE.

Beyond Education is an Ofsted regulated tutoring company in Urmston, Manchester. We tutor children aged 5-18 in English, maths, science and also for school entrance exams. Children are tutored face-to-face in our centre.

We are looking for someone to join our team who;

• has a passion for teaching the secondary English curriculum
• is available to work Mondays 4-8pm/5-8pm and/or Wednesdays 4-8pm/5-8pm plus other evenings and/or Saturdays should you wish
• The position is suitable for any qualified primary school teachers including NQTs, RQTs, trainee teachers, English tutors etc.

Expected/non negotiable;

• Subject to enhanced DBS check
• Able to work independently using initiative as well as working as part of a team
• English and maths GCSEs grade B or above
• A levels or equivalent
• Subject to references
• Available to work at least one week night 4-8pm
• Able to teach to the English language AQA GCSE exam to a high standard

Desired/preferred;

• DBS check on update service
• Qualified teacher status
• Flexible
• Experience of teaching to other English language and English literature examination boards
• Experience of teaching key stages 3-5

Successful candidates will;

• Teach secondary school pupils in English language and literature on both a 1:1 and small group basis
• Support colleagues with less experience (eg supporting training, guiding, mentoring those who are not qualified teachers)
• Plan effectively for their sessions, including those in small groups
• Ensure resources are organised and ready to teach before sessions
• Liaise with colleagues and parents regarding students’ progress
• Plan for a teaching assistant to support small group sessions

Salary: £10.00-£35.00 per hour
