ABOUT US

The Building Engineering Services Association is the UK’s leading trade organisation for building engineering services contractors – representing the interests of firms active in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will work on testing the solutions built by our software developers and participate in the writing of acceptance tests and building test plans. You will execute test plans and record the results, identifying faults and carefully documenting them so that the developers can rectify errors. You will assess the quality of the software we produce and help to ensure that it meets the Non-Functional Requirements set out by the product owner.

You will be a key part of the software development process, creating the tests that allow us to ensure the quality of our products and acting as a key participant in deciding how we check for completeness and when a feature or story is “done”

We will work with you to assess your future career aspirations and provide you with the necessary training in the tools and utilities that enable you to progress. Depending on whether you would like to focus your career on quality or automated testing we will coach and mentor you appropriately and identify the best ways to provide you with the skills you need to progress in your career.

Qualification, Experience & Knowledge

• Good organisational skills
• Skilled in writing test plans
• Skilled in converting requirements and user stories into acceptance tests
• Great documentation and written communication skills
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile
• Experienced in testing software products and executing test plans
