Overview:
This is a generalist HR Advisor role where you would have the responsibility to support the business in a full range of HR generalist activities and projects. You will join a site with circa 110 employees in an autonomous and critical position within the business.
Job Purpose:
Lead the day to day running of the HR department to provide an efficient generalist HR support service to employees and line managers ensuring that the Company’s strategic needs and the needs of the employees are met by the provision of an effective, pro-active service which is administratively and legislatively compliant.
Supporting staff and managers with general enquiries, employee relations case management, absence management, payroll and HR administration.

Essential qualifications, skills and Knowledge:
5 GCSE’s at grade C or above (must include English and Maths)
The ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Demonstrate good organisational skills and an efficient approach to working
Accuracy and attention to detail; taking a systematic and methodical approach to tasks given
The ability to work on one’s own initiative but also know when matters need to be referred to General Manager/Line Manager.
The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and at all levels within the Company.
Confident in challenging existing practices and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work
Able to respond positively to changing work demands
Demonstrate good organisational skills and an efficient approach to working
Ability to plan and prioritise completing tasks under pressure

Desirable qualifications, skills and Knowledge:
Experience of working in a manufacturing/production environment
CIPD qualified Level 5 or above (or qualified by experience)
Experience working in a standalone HR role
Responsibilities:
Ensuring the company remains compliant with all relevant legislation.
Controlling the monthly payroll administration, demonstrating high levels of accuracy within appropriate timescales, partnering with the offsite payroll team to ensure they have everything they need to run an error-free payroll; this involves administrating overtime hours; absence adjustments; new starter and leaver adjustments; along with pay and benefit changes.
Drive the application of the Sickness Absence procedure across the business ensuring that sickness absence levels remain at an acceptable level.
Time and attendance administration, including issuing site access fobs, clearing exceptions, booking holidays and running reports, using the Crown system.
Coaching line managers and providing support enabling them to manage their own HR processes including disciplinary, grievances, performance management and absence management.
Coordinating all employee relation cases within the business in line with internal policies and employment law. Including taking minutes, issuing invitation/outcome letters and compiling evidence packs.
Utilising and maintaining full knowledge and understanding of site and company policies, procedures and processes in order to provide accurate and timely advice and guidance to the management team.
Actively supporting and driving HR related projects in collaboration with the senior management team.
Support recruitment activities, from composing and posting job adverts both internally and externally, to arranging interviews and liaising with the recruitment agencies.
Responsible for the effective and accurate HR administration, including drafting, updating and issuance of contracts/offers of employment and maintenance of both physical HR records and the electronic HR database.
To carry out inductions as required and ensure health and safety induction takes place for all new starters.
To arrange appointments with occupational health for all new employees and individual absence case management.
Deal with routine telephone enquiries and written correspondence via e-mail and post.
Organising and minuting works council meetings between elected employee representatives and the senior management team.
Ensure compliance with GDPR at all times.
