Bento Sushi Hiring for Assistant Production Manager – Food Manufacturing at Richmond Hill, ON Full Time

Bento Sushi is looking for a Bilingual Assistant Production Manager (Mandarin/English) to join our team at our Food Manufacturing and Processing Factory in Scarborough.

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for supporting the Plant Manager to oversee the smooth running of all aspects of production ensuring high quality food products are produced in accordance with all operating standards.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and plan the production of Bento Express and Snowfox Sushi products in the Bento Scarborough Sushi Factory.

Create labour, and production schedules.

Hire, train, and manage teammates to ensure desired performance is achieved and all operating standards are adhered to.

Ensure inventory levels are maintained in accordance to production plan – work with warehouse team to ensure deliveries are on track and on time.

Learn and implement the entire production cycle from rice cooking, vegetable and seafood preparation, rolling, packaging, and shipping in accordance to Bento standard operating procedures and recipes.

Strive to maintain high quality sushi standards while continuously looking for ways to improve operating efficiencies through equipment utilization or better labour allocation.

Provide relief and coverage for Plant Manager and act as the leader when the Manager is away.

When necessary, provide hands on support in the production floor in day to day operations.

Ensure and maintain a high level of sanitation, food safety, and safe working environment, while operating under defined timelines.

Operating Hours:
Plant operating hours are 9 am – 11 pm. Hours may vary in accordance to business needs and working with the Plant Manager.

Flexibility in working hours is recommended.

Qualifications:
Previous supervisory/management experience in a food processing facility is considered an asset.

College or University degree preferred.

Verbal fluency in Mandarin a plus and good English communications skills (written and verbal).

Solid knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP experience is an asset.

Must be computer literate (MS Office).

Ability to motivate teams and lead by example.

Ability to work in a cold refrigerated climate.
