About the role

We are looking for a Bookkeeper wanting to advance their career with a mid-tier professional services firm in the Brisbane CBD that has a proud 70+ year history in Queensland.

You would be working with a team of professionals committed to servicing their broad client base. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Day-to-day creditor and debtor data entry
  • Regular reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts
  • Entering and processing a variety of payrolls
  • Assisting in the Month End process
  • BAS/IAS preparation
  • Review and tidy of client data files in preparation for annual tax compliance and/or annual audits
  • Transition of client files to Xero as required
  • Provision of Xero software training to clients
  • Responding to client bookkeeping and software queries
  • Client billing
  • General accounts administration support

This is a permanent full-time position, though we are also open to part time workers (at least 3 days a week, or school hours across 4 or 5 days).

We have flexi start and finish times and there’s a possibility for WFH days in the future.


About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • At least 2+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping role
  • Demonstrated experience using MYOB and Xero (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in processing payroll (essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • A reliable work ethic that ensures prompt communication with clients and team members
  • Experience using MS Office
  • Aged care sector experience is a bonus but not essential
