Our client are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking electrician to join their Facilities Management team at an NHS Hospital site in Stockport. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety and functionality of the hospital’s electrical systems, supporting critical healthcare services. environments.

Electrician Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, experience in testing, remedial work, breakdowns, and small projects, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality healthcare.

Electrical Testing: Conduct routine electrical testing to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. This includes PAT testing, fixed wire testing, and emergency lighting checks.

Remedial Work: Identify and rectify electrical issues, faults, or deficiencies promptly to maintain the hospital’s electrical systems’ integrity.

Breakdown Response: Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergencies efficiently, diagnosing and repairing faults to minimise disruption to hospital operations.

Small Projects: Participate in small-scale electrical projects, such as ward refurbishments and equipment upgrades, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.

Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with NHS and industry standards, adhering to health and safety regulations and electrical codes of practice.

Electrician Position Requirements

• Electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, testing, and remedial work.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and distribution.
• Experience working in healthcare facilities or similarly regulated environments is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of NHS and healthcare-specific regulations and standards is a plus.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Electrician Position Remuneration

• £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE)
