Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD Looking for Technical Manager at Grays, Essex Full Time

Technical Manager required for my client based within the crane and lifting operation department of engineering, based near to West Thurrock, Grays, Essex.

The successful technical manager will be responisble for providing technical and design data, whilst working both independently and as part of an experienced team – using 2D CAD regualarly to create project drawings.

Technical Manager Position Overview

• Assist the Sales and Operations Teams in producing and maintaining high quality documents demonstrating standard and special tower crane solutions.
• Take responsibility for producing tower crane “applications engineering” designs offering a wide range of innovative solutions that meet the customers’ needs.
• Provide innovative solutions and contribute to product development of tower crane tools, equipment and accessories including developing improved work practices.
• Support tender development and delivery.
• Provide resolutions for technical/engineering problems.
• Provide engineering support our workshops, fabricators and sub-contractors.
• Advise and consult on the application of lifting planning techniques and controls.
• Support and develop project documentation and controls best practices.
• Check and approve other designs.
• Work with AutoCAD 2D drafting software to provide high quality presentation of solutions.
• Support and develop drafting aids and efficiencies for self and others.

Technical Manager Position Requirements

• Demonstrate aptitude and knowledge in aspects of building and construction.
• Previous knowledge of Tower crane and mobile crane schemes (Desirable).
• Good working knowledge of CAD based design tools.
• Understanding of structural and mechanical design and fabrication principles.
• Understanding of relevant European and British standards applicable to tower crane planning, maintenance, operation and safety (desirable).
• Awareness of requirements for legal compliance in the lifting operations sector.
• Analytic individual with sound engineering understanding.
• Planning and project management skills.
• Desire to build knowledge of Tower crane application and industry.
• Excellent communication and social skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• HNC/HND in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Health and Safety Knowledge.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Based within a commutable distance of West Thurrock.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
