Structural Engineer – required for our client who are representing one of the UK’s largest independent Civil Engineering contractors. The Structural Engineer will be working from their office in Westminster and will be working on a range of projects within structural maintenance with resolving structural inspection/survey and design issues and providing solutions to highway improvement schemes.

The successful Structural Engineer will have a range of experience within resolving structural inspection, survey and design issues. They will be able to provide innovative solutions to highway improvement schemes. The Structural Engineer will have experience with structures including bridges, footbridges, pedestrian subways, pipe subways, retaining walls, river walls and underpasses.

Any experience is attendance to basement vaults survey, assessment and or structural design when require would be advantageous.

Structural Engineer Position Overview

• Undertake the following structural inspection and reporting
• Working on contractual maintenance regimes with local council authorities, TfL and local authorities in Central London.
• Produce an inspection programme and costs plans.
• Principal and General inspection with highway structures such as Underpasses, Bridges, Footbridges, Subways and more.
• Issue instructions and investigation reports on reported incidents such as damage to bridges, collapsed basement vaults, river embankment damage and collapsed carriageways.
• Principal Inspection (PI) and General Inspection (GI)
• Site attendance, inspection and reporting based on reported incidents involving
• Abnormal Loads Administration
• Structural design and or inspection regimes

Structural Engineer Position Requirements

• BEng in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Member of ICE or IStructE
• Working toward achieving professional membership – MICE or MIStructE
• Previous experience 3 + years of working in structural maintenance
• Construction Project experience
• Structural design experience with reinforced concrete and steel structures/foundations
• Experience with BridgeStation and Competent with AutoCAD
• CSCS card
• Full UK driving licence
