Our client, a leading consultancy within the Civil & Structural Engineering sector are currently on the lookout for a Senior Air Quality Consultant to join their team in their Birmingham offices. This company provides a multi-disciplinary consultancy service on a wide range of infrastructure, regeneration and development projects throughout the UK. Our client has an impressive track record of providing leading edge advice on some of the most challenging and large scale projects across the UK.

The ideal candidate for this role will be joining the companies Birmingham modern offices and this role will offer the opportunity to work with the Technical Director in providing experience in predictive dispersion modelling techniques and air quality assessment, with comprehensive knowledge of Air Quality legislation, guidance and practice. The successful Senior Air Quality Consultant will be expected to produce air quality work within the context of EIA/ESIA and Environmental Permitting as well as more standalone air quality projects. Project involvement typically includes strategic mixed‐use development schemes as well as industrial sites. This a real opportunity to progress to Technical Director for the right individual.

Senior Air Quality Consultant Position Overview

• Work with the Technical Director in providing experience in predictive dispersion modelling techniques and air quality assessment, with comprehensive knowledge of Air Quality legislation, guidance and practice.
• To produce air quality work within the context of EIA/ESIA and Environmental Permitting as well as more standalone air quality projects.

Senior Air Quality Consultant Position Requirements

• Degree / Masters in a science / environmental science or related discipline;
• IAQM membership or equivalent chartered status (desirable but not essential);
• A good understanding of UK air quality legislation, policy and guidance including Design Manual for Roads Bridges (DMRB) and UK Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM).
• Excellent air quality technical skills from desk studies and dispersion modelling, to emissions management and control experience;
• Use of air dispersion modelling software including the ADMS-Roads, ADMS 5 and SoundPLAN software packages
• Solid understanding of legislative and other drivers, including industry best practice and the EIA process, which form the framework within which air quality work is carried out;
• Excellent computer and numeracy skills including interpretation of air quality monitoring data, and demonstrable proficiency in ADMS, Aermod and other modelling software and GIS mapping, including deposition and odour aspects
