Benevity is the global leader in online workplace giving, donation matching, volunteering, and community investment software, and we are seeking a talented Software Developer in Test to join our growing technology team. This posting is for more than one team, contributing to Benevity’s ecosystem of products.

Who you are:
You have 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience and still have a curiosity and malleability to learn new things (we are not tied to just one tech stack at Benevity)

You are not new to cloud-based architecture or automated CI/CD pipelines

You take pride in quality and have multiple approaches towards testing

You can confidently analyze complex software systems and collaborate with others to improve the overall design, testability, and quality.

You aim to make quality part of the solution, rather than something done after development is complete

You have experience with testing at scale and discovering where performance improvements can be made

Your approach to testing is holistic and includes approaches to test for security, user experience, accessibility, and performance

You understand testing best practices for an API-first approach

You keep up to date on the latest testing best practices and can apply techniques you see would benefit our system

You are confident utilizing proper inversion of control, dependency injection, mocks, and test harnesses to ensure code can be tested in small functional units

You have the ability to think abstractly and are comfortable with ambiguous/undefined problems

You are passionate about how our clients view and use our products and work with the design team to ensure the best user experience

You have an understanding of various client needs and creating accessible web products

You take pride of ownership in maintaining and improving testing environments

You are aware of industry tends in secure coding practices and a strong advocate for continual improvement and the use of static and dynamic code analysis

You thrive in improving and refactoring legacy code and optimizing existing systems

You find fulfillment in mentoring and teaching teams to develop highly testable code and believe that everyone has something to learn and teach

You embrace the need for continual innovation to create better products and services

You take satisfaction in leaving code/processes/people better than when you got there

You subscribe to the idea that companies should be socially responsible
