Job Summary
Responsible for oversight of the Accounting Department, the preparation and entry of journal entries and assigned financial reports; implementation of process improvements and/or team initiatives. Works under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation and entry of general ledger journal entries.
• Reconciles accounts and/or assists others with identifying and researching reconciling items.
• Identifies alternative solutions to prevent continued issues.
• Prepares deliverables to support external audit efforts of our financial statements.
• Monitors and balances systems to ensure completeness and accuracy; researches and resolves differences.
• Prepares financial statement disclosures and various reports.
• Performs special projects as directed.

• Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, set priorities, and adhere to deadlines in an organized manner.
• Must be a problem solver with a proven ability to research, analyze, produce and ensure the accuracy of highly detailed work.

Management Responsibilities

• Oversight of 4 person accounting department.

Preferred Qualifications

• Small to mid-level business experience
• Heavy construction and transportation industry experience a plus
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and Quickbooks, preferred

• Proven knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply principles
• Ability to work independently
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance, or equivalent experience.

Experience: Typically 4+ years related experience.
