The Position

The IT Systems Support and Network Analyst position is the first point of call to the IT department. The incumbent will need to be able to provide technical support to users in an efficient and accurate manner. The goal of the role is to make sure that the customer value is maintained with high standards.

The main responsibilities of the position include (but not limited to):

• Provide technical support (Network, Systems and Security), to all staff via email, phone and face-to-face
• Administer the Service Desk system, ensuring all incidents are entered into the system, and maintain the information to ensure its timeliness, accuracy, relevancy, escalation, and status
• Installing, Commissioning and decommissioning network and security systems
• Monitoring and improving the performance of the systems in place
• Ensure all relevant IT records are updated whenever appropriate
• Maintain general IT documentation and resources, including SharePoint, Knowledge Centre, FAQ’s, manuals, licenses, media, etc.
• Manage the File Server and the activity of the usage, Allocate the storage for the users and taking regular backups
• Have knowledge of operating systems, hardware operation, leading software, basic LAN/WAN knowledge
• Provide specialist application support for Arthur Merchandise Planning System
• Provide specialist application support for Retail Directions, Retail and Store Management System (RMS/SMS)
• Working knowledge of on prem and cloud-based applications such as AD (Azure and Exchange 365)
• Create and manage user accounts on Exchange Admin Centre, Office 365 Admin Centre, and Active Directory. Process moves, additions and changes of users and stores (POS)
• Create and manage Users on Phone System (Mitel) and Mobile Phone Management system (SOTI Mobi Control)
• Basic working knowledge of virtualisation / hypervisor technologies such as VMware
• Assist in maintaining a secure network by using security tools such as FortiEDR, EMS and other related applications
• Perform backups of Firewall, Email Security System, VPN, Internet Security System and File Server
• Manage and ensure the protection from email threats on Email Security Appliance (FortiMail)
• Configure Routers (FortiGate (Fortinet) and Switches (Aruba) based on different requirements of the business and troubleshoot the network issues and monitor that the services (FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer) are up and running and perform Firmware updates with latest releases
• Provide regular maintenance of the Firewall, DNS, DHCP and VPN setup
• Assist other IT team members in producing internal documentation and with manual tasks such as work in the server room.
• Share the IT support mobile phone on a roster, to provide after-hours remote support for broad issues, providing fault rectification or escalation to the appropriate party where appropriate
• Ad hoc project related work such as new store setups, new initiatives, and innovations to assist with the growth and development of the department and organisation

The Perfect Profile

• Applicable knowledge and experience in a similar role is essential
• Experience working closely with all levels of staff within an organization
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related disciplines
• Knowledge of ITIL based service management practices
• Experience in retail or wholesale industry dealing with multiple sites
• Exposure cyber security processes and procedures
• Attention to detail with a positive “can do” attitude
• Ability to cope with changing project and task priorities
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and show initiative
• Willingness to learn and to take responsibility for a variety of tasks, as required
• Have the flexibility to work on a rotating shift and on-call
• Empathy for staff and customer focused
• Is comfortable liaising with customers of varying expertise
• Able to explain technical issues without using jargon and can understand related business impacts
• Responds well to unexpected events and can troubleshoot complex issues in an efficient and timely way
