Position Summary

Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) is seeking a Logistics Specialist that will be based in Houston, TX and supporting projects in Latin America and other regions. The position will be responsible for performing Logistics responsibilities of moderate complexity in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. Responsible for overseeing Logistics Service Provider (LSP) project operations including directing operations associated with the inbound movement of project procured materials from various domestic and international suppliers to project site or final destination. Ensure assigned logistics operations, including LSP performance are in compliance with the contract and within schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Performs domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements.
• Coordinates and collaborates with various functions/disciplines teams to meet project operational demand and core metrics.
• Assists with the development of logistics budget, estimates reforecast, cost trend and deviation tracking, and logistics acquisition plan.
• Supports FEED and EPC feasibility studies, budget strategy, estimating, and the development of integrated project logistics execution plan (IPLEX).
• Supports with timely entry of shipment tracking data into Oracle Transportation (OTM) to provide visibility shipment status and utilize standard tools to maintain critical data tracking and project ing.
• Assists with OTM (Oracle Transportation Management) procedures and work instructions, trainings, and planning for execution.
• Ensures project operations is consistent with well-established and clear corporate and functional requirements.
• Ensure continual monitoring of LSP key performance indicator (KPI) to ensure services are carried out as contracted for and to ensure that project requirements are satisfied, and equipment requirements performance conforms to standards as reflected in LSP scope.
• Assists in preparation of Logistics s or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.
• Assists in identifying transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics service providers.
• Assists the project Logistics lead as requested.
• Assists with functional initiatives and continuous improvement strategies to drive LSP performance metrics and leverage data to optimize cost and improve processes.
• Assists with filing and resolution of Logistics service provider claims.
• Assists with preparation of Logistics service provider bid tabs, commitment authorizations, and contract documents within the scope of Bechtel policies and procedures.
• Assists with preparation of Logistics studies including site and Logistics service provider facility visits.
• Integrates safety requirements and measures in all Logistics activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

• Demonstrated oral and written both English and Spanish communication skills.
• Knowledge of DSCS (Digital Supply Chain System) and OTM tools, procedures, and trainings.
• Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or related technical training preferred.
• Preferred that the individual has project Field experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of 4+ years of related experience.
• Career-development position within field.
• Knowledge of importing and exporting formalities and processes
• Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms, Incoterms
• Knowledge of industry packing, marking, and shipping requirements.

• Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
• Makes recommendations for new procedures, tools and systems.
• Works flexible hours and have the ability to travel domestic and internationally on business trips from time to time.

Supervision

• Minimal supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
• Completes difficult assignments without assistance. May mentor less-experienced team members and assist supervisors.
• Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
