Beanstalk Web Solutions Hiring for Video Game Tester Job at Saint Louis, MO Full Time

Beanstalk is a well-established Web Development and Digital Marketing Agency located in Webster Groves, Missouri. Our Team is working on a mobile game project and is looking to hire a part-time, temporary (at least 3 months) game tester / game balancer / game content creator. (local candidates only).

*This position is an excellent opportunity for a goal-oriented candidate who is passionate about mobile games or video games in general. Candidates will be working on a mix of mobile game testing, game balancing, and adding new content to the game.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• The mobile game is currently in development, so it needs frequent and systematic testing, bug testing, etc.

• Game balancing: many aspects of the game will need the stats adjusted and through a combination of simple math and trial & error, the stats and possible game strategies will need to be balanced. As new content is added, more balancing will be needed.

• New content will need to be added to the game including new levels, new abilities, new tables of data, etc. Graphic design skills are not necessary, all the content will be added via Unity, C# files, and JSON files.

This is a part-time, part-remote and part-in-office position. When at the office, Beanstalk is a relaxed but professional office environment. We are a small team, so the importance of carrying one’s weight is critical. Our fun, close-knit team makes the accomplishments we achieve very rewarding.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Prior Experience:

• No prior experience is necessary, but a passion for video games and mobile games is a must. Training, documentation, and help will be provided by Beanstalk.

• Proficient math skills are advantageous (calculus not required, but basic algebra skills will be useful)

Qualifications

• A passion for video games, especially mobile games

• Some experience or interest in playing strategy-focused mobile games

Starting Pay

• $17/hour with a potential for increases

This is a part-time, temporary position. We estimate that the position will last at least 3 months, but potentially as much as one year or longer. There is a chance the position could become permanent. We are estimating most weeks will require 20 to 30 hours of work. Greater than 50% of the time spent on the project can be remote, but some time spent at the office will be required. The candidate must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement as the game has not yet been released to the public. The candidate must have their own computer for remote work. The computer needs fairly good performance specs as it must run a Unity development environment efficiently, so very old computers may not work.

This position does not include benefits. If the position ever does convert to a full-time, salaried position, Beanstalk offers the following benefits:

Schedule: Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a weekly mandatory meeting at 9:30am on Friday.

The remote work portion can take place at any time including nights and weekends. The candidate will have much control over setting their own schedule.
