Beacon Resources, in partnership with a company specializing in construction materials, seeks a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join a company near Beverly Hills on a direct hire basis.

Job – The hired Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager will perform general FP&A duties with modeling, trend analysis, sales KPI’s, and dashboard design. The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager will report to a VP of Finance.

Remote/Onsite/Mixed Work Schedule? – If the hired professional resides in the Los Angeles area, then the work schedule will be a mixed hybrid schedule (four (4) days remote and one (1) day onsite). If the hired professional resides elsewhere, then the role is 100% remote with quarterly travel to Corporate HQ in Los Angeles.

DUTIES OF THE FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS (FP&A) MANAGER

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

• Assist in the development and execution of the financial budgets for the Company
• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process with department heads/project leads to ensure financial information is provided on a regular basis to effectively manage the business
• Develop presentations and analysis of budget performance and key business metrics
• Present findings to upper management
• Perform analytics to support commercial planning activities, business development activities and strategic planning activities
• Update balance sheet assumptions and projections as updated financial data comes in
• Create financial models to support all reporting initiatives
• Maintain data integrity

Cost Accounting

• Track costs with the assistance of a cost tracking database
• Analyze cost variances in inventory (raw materials, finished goods) between stated and actual counts, including using the FIFO accounting method
• Contribute to the COGS and inventory budget

Miscellaneous

• Work with other divisions within the company, most notably sales teams
• Accept other ad hoc duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS (FP&A) MANAGER

Required

• BA in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration (or in lieu, equivalent work experience)
• Five (5) + years of progressive experience in FP&A

Preferred

• Current or previous experience working with sales teams
• Current or previous experience drafting contracts and partnership agreements
• Current or prior employment at a manufacturing environment
• Current resident of the Los Angeles/Dallas-Fort Worth/Tampa-St. Petersburg/South Florida metropolitan areas

SKILLS OF THE FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS (FP&A) MANAGER

Required

Technical

• Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and IF formulas) and MS PowerPoint

Interpersonal

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
• Ability to work well with different departments and in different capacities
• Comfortable in a fast-paced company environment with minimal direction
• Natural inquisitiveness
