Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer / Senior Associate Dean

Position:

The Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer / Senior Associate Dean (CDIO/SAD) will thrive in a complex culture of service, innovation, and collaboration. Serving as the face of diversity at WCM, the CDIO will lead and create new programs and be a compelling spokesperson for WCM across research, education and clinical care. This new leader will work both internally and externally to continue to grow community engagement and support for DEI.

WCM was recently awarded the Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, in recognition of its outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. Dean Choi’s forward-thinking leadership on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) has initiated this national search for this newly created position which reports directly to him as key member of a collaborative leadership team.

Qualifications:

The CDIO will have responsibility for strategy and operations through the Office of Diversity and Inclusion which includes the academic and clinical enterprise and is expected to integrate DEI resources and programs throughout WCM. They will also build WCM’s national stature for health disparities education and research. The ideal CDIO:

Has the reputation and leadership gravitas to convene ideas and people and catalyze the WCM community towards deeper understanding and achievable solutions.

Operates as a visionary leader who understands how to effectively drive change in a complex patient-centered, mission-driven, academic environment.

Is a dynamic, nationally recognized academic and/or industry diversity practitioner and thought leader.

Will have significant academic, clinical, and administrative experience in a university health science center, or similar, and preferably at the rank of professor or associate professor.

MD, DO, PhD or equivalent. If a physician, must be Board Certified and also eligible for a NY medical license.
