This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified management accountant to contribute to a mid-market international group that is looking to grow significantly over the next few years. The role will support the Group Financial Controller and will develop skills and knowledge of the successful candidate within the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely management accounts for the UK and AUS subsidiaries and Joint Venture including P&L, B/S. Review, analysis and comment on financial performance compared to budget, prior year and forecast.
• Prepare month end journals and adjustments where necessary.
• Supporting Group Financial Controller (GFC) with monthly and annual group consolidations as necessary.
• Support reviewing of reconciliation performed by other team members
• Taking ownership of all intercompany reconciliation processes and developing knowledge of all intergroup transactions.
• Supporting UK and AUS cashflow reporting and forecasting and assisting GFC with group cashflow reports
• Control of the AUS payroll.
• Oversight of UK and AUS credit control.
• Oversight of the UK and AUS Accounts Payable
• Supporting GFC with making sure all UK and AUS statutory returns including VAT, GST, PAYG and BAS submissions are delivered on-time
• Assist GFC with the annual audit of the Group, UK and AUS financial statements..
• Assist GFC with the preparation of the quarterly forecast and the annual budget process, including project/capex forecasts, projections and controls
• Help support GFC to develop and ensure adequate controls, policies and procedures are in place, and where necessary to implement new ones where a business need presents itself.
• Together with the GFC help drive continual improvement in financial processes across the group.
• Supporting the GFC with business partnering with the Senior Management Team as well as advisors across the group (UK and AUS).
• Help support and guide other finance team members in terms of best practice standards.

Skills & Qualities

• Ambitious part qualified accountant, actively studying CIMA or ACCA looking to progress within a finance department of a business with focusing on ambitious growth targets
• Has high professional standards and knows what “good looks like”
• Has had previous management accounting and financial control experience within either financial services or a service business with a culture of high professional standards.
• Experience with working within a group environment would be preferred
• Good communication skills are needed to support and promote (with GFC) the capability of finance department internally within the business.
• Ability to solve problems and implement solutions necessary to ensure financial reporting improves over time..
• Knowledge of Xero accounting software preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel skills essential..
