BCP Council Hiring for Virtual School Education Officer /PEP Co-ordinator Job at Bournemouth, England Full Time

BCP Virtual School have an exciting opportunity for an Employment officer/PEP Coordinator to work with our KS5+ cohort. You will work full time, supporting KS5+ children in care and care experienced young people to maximise their life chances by accessing high quality further education and employment. You will ideally be experienced within the post 16 sector and have an excellent knowledge of good practice working with EETs and NEETs.

The successful applicant will work as part of a small, clearly focused, dedicated team of professionals who provide both challenge and support to providers in BCP and a wider geographical area.

We work within a statutory framework and have established a set of clear policies, protocols and procedures to guide our work and enable us to be ‘knowingly biased’ and act as an advocate for children in care.

As a future member of the team, we require you to understand the Post 16 and Post 18 opportunities available be able to advocate for young people to have high quality education and employment experiences. You will ideally also have a thorough understanding of how to support young people entering the country as Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC)

Training and development of staff is highly valued in BCP Council and you will have the opportunity undertake learning opportunities for staff specific to the role. Future development opportunities may become available as the team grows so experience of Leadership and management would be advantageous.

You should be passionate about embedding best practice standards and putting children and young people at the centre of everything we do.
