The Ministry’s Skeena Stikine District (DSS) is seeking an individual interested in filling a temporary assignment as soon as possible for the role of Office Services Supervisor until October 2, 2022 (as noted above, this has a high probability of being extended and/or becoming a permanent placement).
The ideal candidate has a professional attitude and works well with groups of people inside the organization and interfaces with the public. You are adept at solving work-related problems, with the values of the public service in mind, across a diverse field of front office areas. This position reports to the Senior First Nations Advisor at the Skeena Stikine District Office in Smithers, BC.
An effective supervisor, you serve as a positive role model for your team, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment and ensuring timely service delivery. You are customer service-oriented and exhibit a high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing with stakeholders, other government staff and the public. Come, gain experience and play the lead role in responsibilities that will include safety, HR liaison, facilities manager, financial process, general front office tasks and supervision as this position will manage both direct and indirect staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the following:
Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
Experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff.
Experience leading others.
In addition to the above requirements, preference may be given to those with one or more of the following:
Diploma, or higher, in a related field of study (office/business/public administration, etc.).
Experience working with the public in an office/business/public administration role.
Experience editing various documents (letters, reports, spreadsheets, etc.).
Experience directly supervising one or more staff including, but not limited to, assigning work and employee performance management.
