We are currently seeking a skilled Talent Executive to help discover and nurture key creative talent for some of the best loved shows produced by two of BBC Studios’ foremost production hubs, Factual Entertainment and Entertainment, in our Salford base. BBC Studios’ Factual Entertainment team produces a wide range of original, well-loved and highly acclaimed TV productions; programmes such as Top Gear, Dragons’ Den, The One Show, Amazing Hotels, DIY SOS and Morning Live. The unit is continuously pitching and winning new business around the world. BBC Studios’ Entertainment team produces enthralling, genre-leading content for broad and diverse audiences across the globe who are brought together by a shared passion for our award-winning programmes. The unit’s breadth of programmes is huge, from Strictly Come Dancing – the biggest entertainment juggernaut in the UK – to Eurovision – the world’s biggest music competition – and A Question of Sport, the longest running TV Sports Quiz in the world, all attracting the nation’s best-known names in every field.
Main Responsibilities
Forming part of the HR service and working directly with program-makers to find & attract the best and most inclusive talent in the business, the Talent team provides a top-class recruitment search and outreach function for all the content delivered from BBC Studios.
We are currently looking for a Talent Executive with a strong knowledge of the UK broadcast TV and content production market, with particular focus on the Factual Entertainment and Entertainment editorial production talent pool in and around Salford, to join the team on a permanent full time basis. This role is particularly focused on recruitment for a range of programming, including Morning Live, A Question of Sport, The Weakest Link, Children in Need and Comic Relief.
Are you the right candidate?
We welcome applications from Talent Executives with experience in both Factual Entertainment and Entertainment however, you don’t need to have a talent background in order to apply. This role could suit someone with a background in content production for broadcast television either to Series Producer, Producer or Production Manager level. What is key is that you have an extensive knowledge of these genres and the freelance landscape in the Northwest, and an interest and aptitude for sourcing and nurturing the best off-screen talent, both on a forward planned and fast turnaround basis.
Ideally you will have knowledge and experience of the following areas: studio production, short form film making, and presenter led popular programming. You will also have experience of building and managing teams and a keen interest in increasing and championing diversity and inclusion within BBC Studios.
