The Documentary Unit is seeking a skilled Talent Executive to help discover and nurture key creative talent across its slate of content.

Main Responsibilities

The Talent team provides a top class recruitment search and outreach function for all the content delivered from BBC Studios. We work with program-makers to find & attract the best talent in the business.

We are currently looking for a Talent Executive with a strong knowledge of the UK / US documentaries production landscape to join the team on a permanent basis. This role is centred on editorial production recruitment for documentary and specialist factual content. The role will play a key part in staffing up across a broad range of documentaries from classic access-driven pieces to constructed narrative, as well as premium specialist factual content, for example true crime, history / social history and arts.

Talent executives work closely with creative leads to find and suggest programme-making talent from researchers to executive producers on both a forward-planned and fast turnaround basis.

Are you the right candidate?

We welcome applications from talent executives with experience in this genre. However, you don’t need to have a talent background in order to apply. This role could suit a series producer or producer with an interest and aptitude for finding and bringing on the best talent.

You will need considerable experience of the genre, detailed knowledge of the latest documentary output and a current, established network of programme-makers. This will include premium documentary directors and producers.

You will also have experience of building and managing teams and a keen interest in increasing and championing diversity and inclusion within BBC Studios.
