Job Introduction
This role involves software development of business application software for the broadcaster S4C. The role sits within a small Software Development team which is part of the larger BBC Wales Technology team. The development team is responsible for ensuring the Broadcast Schedule Management (BSM) system used by staff working for both S4C and BBC Wales is maintained and enhanced as required. BBC Wales is located in a new state of the art broadcast centre at Cardiff Central Square.
Main Responsibilities
You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the software systems with standard development best practices and keeping the system documentation up to date and accurate. Working with the existing development team you will be assigned development tasks to complete which will be reviewed by other members of the team and tested before becoming part of the normal software release process.
Are you the right candidate?
You will have experience of development of business applications for the Windows platform which use a client / server architecture. You will be familiar and practiced with either Waterfall or Agile Development Methodologies and the process and tools used in modern development workflows. You will have experience working both within a team and on your own and being responsible for producing code to the expected standards.
