BBC Hiring for Assistant Producer, Bitesize – BBC Education Job at Salford, North West England, England Full Time

BBC Bitesize is looking for an Assistant Producer to develop, create and promote educational content for 4 to 16-year-olds.

You will be part of our editorial developments team working alongside curriculum and product teams to help deliver Primary, KS3 or GCSE topics/subjects in new and interactive formats.

Main Responsibilities

As an Assistant Producer, you will be leading on the development, production and promotion of formal learning content. You will work collaboratively with your peers and with a team of researchers to deliver new content and content improvements as well as partner content. These may include video, short-form interactives and quizzes, commissioning writing and infographics.

You will drive best practices across Bitesize using data to help deliver audience engagement and loyalty.

You may also be required to work collaboratively with the Children’s & Education internal games team to ensure learning is embedded in-game commissions.

You will work with subject matter experts to develop a strong understanding of the needs of children studying each subject and be adept at working with audience and product teams to iteratively develop and user-test editorial formats.

Are you the right candidate?

You will have experience of planning and creating digital content to serve a particular audience need, alongside working with editorial and product teams to develop and implement changes that have audience impact, and a track record of maximising traffic opportunities with experience and knowledge of search engine optimisation and audience tools such as Google Trends and Chartbeat.

Experience of working with external partners and suppliers is key to this role, as well as knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies and experience of using these to deliver digital content projects.

You must also have experience of using user testing and other audience insight to innovate, develop and evaluate effective content, as well as editorial experience making content for young people – understanding how editorial guidelines apply to different age groups and confident in making editorial decisions.
