The City Performance directorate underpins the delivery of service excellence by providing expertise in Financial Services, Governance, Procurement, Business Technology and Property Services.

About the Role

Provide accurate, timely, compliant and transparent financial information, analysis and advice to support informed business decision making by the Executive, Leadership Team and other stakeholders.

The role is responsible for the timely delivery of all management accounting services principally supporting management to meet Council business needs, financial objectives and reporting requirements.

You Can Also Expect To

• Partner with Business Unit Managers to provide consultancy and assistance with Operational Plan preparation
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to monitor activity performance, budget reviews, data collection and performance measures
• Assist to prepare Council’s Long Term Financial Plan, Annual Budgets and Quarterly Budget Reviews
• Prepare monthly management and other ad hoc reports to assist Business Unit Managers to monitor, manage budgets and monthly performance
• Assist to prepare annual Council Financial Statements to meet statutory reporting requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who;

• Has relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or a related discipline
• Has commenced or has aspirations of attaining CA/CPA qualifications
• Has good communication skills
• Has a minimum of two years’ experience in a financial analysis, external audit, or similar role
• Has interest in data & analytics including financial scenario modelling
