Barrow Brain and Spine Hiring for Verification & Authorization Specialist – Downtown at Phoenix, AZ Full Time

As one of the largest private group practices in the US, BBS is looking for a Verifications & Authorizations Specialist to join our Phoenix (Remote) team!

In general, the Verifications & Authorizations Specialist will:

• Complete patient demographics.
• Verify Assignment of Benefits.
• Detail notes of insurance requirements in “appointment notes” section of computer system.
• Verify primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance.
• Verify Inpatient Hospital/Physician Benefits.
• Verify and obtain prior authorization for Pain Management, Physical Therapy and DME services.
• Review Office Schedules daily for patients requiring authorizations, referrals, and insurance verification.
• Inform the physicians and staff when a Peer to Peer is requested for treatment and/or service is denied.
• Verify pending office schedules.
• Manage Stat verification requests from all departments as needed.
• Set up new insurance information, when necessary, on patients’ accounts.
• Research incorrect insurance information and make corrections in system when needed.
• Play a lead role in ensuring BBS remains within federal and state regulatory compliance.
• Help create an extraordinary patient experience!

Requirements:

• HS diploma or GED required.
  
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred.
