The Total Reward team covers all aspects of remuneration and benefits for our employees – from company-wide processes such as the annual salary review, bonus and flexible benefits through to managing the payroll and general day-to-day employee pay and benefit queries. The team are based from our Birmingham, Bristol and Cheltenham offices and this role can be based out of any of these.
The wider HR team are based across our office with the main presence in Cheltenham, Bristol and Birmingham. It provides a full HR service to the Firm encompassing Resourcing and Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Total Rewards & People Solutions, Organisational Development & Talent and Employee Experience & Engagement.
The Reward Advisor – Compensation can work on a hybrid basis, sharing time between home and the office (Birmingham, Cheltenham or Bristol).
This role represents an excellent opportunity for somebody wishing to build on their pay and compensation experience and to join an established Reward Team in a forward-thinking and award-winning professional services consultancy.

Responsibilities:
The Reward Advisor – Compensation will be extensively involved in supporting various stages of the cyclical pay process including holiday buy-back, discretionary bonus scheme, salary review, promotions and bulk exam awards. This will usually involve some planning, manipulating data, compiling spreadsheets, co-ordination of recommendations and being the first point of contact for these processes.
Outside the cyclical tasks, other responsibilities will include providing support for a wide variety of ad hoc pay changes including but not limited to:
Flexible working requests
Sickness reporting, undertaking manual calculations to support other HR processes and support GIP tracking, calculations and reconciliations
Change of employment requests
Maintaining the integrity of our job matching and benchmarking and the Reward Advisor – Compensation plays an important part in making sure benchmarking data used across the firm is valid, accurate and up to date.
Support the preparation and validation of data for the company’s annual gender pay reporting
Supporting any TUPE take-on exercises
All aspects of the annual salary survey data submission
Providing guidance to wider HR team on more complex family friendly policy
Act as main point of contact for holiday or pay queries
Finally, where possible, there will be an opportunity to get involved with projects either within the Reward team or as part of a cross HR project.
Qualifications:
Maths and English GCSE at grade 6 / B or higher as a minimum but ideally educated in a numerate subject beyond GCSE level
Essential experience / skills:
Experience undertaking reward, pay or compensation either in Reward or as part of a broader HR position
Proven numerical experience and delivery is essential
Able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency and accuracy in both numerical and analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
Able to demonstrate ability to deal with queries relating to pay
High level of IT literacy, particularly Advanced Excel
Experience of working with employees and other internal customers
Experience of working in an integrated HR team
Desirable experience / skills:
Experience of working with compensation systems would be an advantage
Experience of working within a professional services organisation
