Barnes Roffe Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join one of their clients based in Rochester, Kent.

What is the role?

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for the following: –

· Dealing with daily banking such as making supplier payments

· Collecting customer receipts and transferring funds between bank accounts

· Carrying out regular bank reconciliations and reviewing the bank position

· Producing and raising sales invoices using our bespoke software.

· Posting supplier purchase invoices onto SAGE.

· Liaising with our suppliers directly to investigate any disputed purchase invoices

If you’re the ideal candidate? You’ll need to have:

• Minimum two years experience working in finance
• Bookkeeping or accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA etc.)
• High level IT skills, particularly MS Excel and Word
• Good working knowledge of SAGE
• Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to converse with people at all levels
• The ability to work quickly with a high degree of accuracy
• Be self-directed and able to complete tasks with limited supervision
• The ability to think outside the box and help direct the business forward
• This role will suit a candidate who is proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
