Barnes Roffe have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Finance Manager to join one of their clients based in Central London.

You will work three days per week.
Location: Central London, however the role can largely be performed remotely so a flexible-home working option is available too.

Working hours: 2 – 3 days a week (to be agreed)

Job purpose:

To maintain the financial records of the company and assist in maintaining the financial health of the company. To provide regular accurate financial information to the company’s directors.

Customer/sales

– Raise and record customer invoices/credit notes to the appropriate nominal code.

– Maintain the accounts receivable ledger, including recording of customer receipts and allocating these against invoices.

– Identify slow payers and chase debts as required.

– Prepare customer statements.

– Any additional duties as required by management.

Suppliers/purchases

– New supplier set up.

– Record supplier invoices/credit notes to the appropriate nominal code.

– Prepare supplier payment lists.

– Maintain the accounts payable ledger, including recording of supplier payments and allocating these against invoices.

– Reconcile supplier statements.

Bank and cash

– Prepare payment runs as required.

– Record all bank transactions.

– Reconcile the bank on a regular basis.

Other

– Prepare schedules for accruals and prepayments.

– Record month end journals including payroll and depreciation.

– Record staff expenses and credit card expenditure

– Maintain the company’s fixed asset register.

– Prepare the VAT return as required.

– Prepare monthly management accounts with appropriate commentary and analysis as required.

– Preparing information for annual audit/compliance purposes.

– Providing administration and clerical support as needed.

– Any other additional bookkeeping duties as required by management.

Skills and qualifications:

This role will be suited to someone with an accounting qualification, a strong knowledge of accounting principles, and who has a good understanding of how the finance function in a business works.

In particular, the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills:

– Knowledge of basic accounting principles

– Knowledge of Sage and Xero

– Knowledge of VAT and partial exemption treatment.

– Experience of Group VAT returns.

– Experience of intergroup accounting and reconciliations.

– Knowledge of MS Office in particular Outlook and Excel.
