Job Summary

The Finance Assistant will be required to support the Corporate Accounting team in all aspects of their work. The role therefore involves a variety of tasks from bookkeeping to assisting in the preparation and reconciliation of management accounts. A detailed list of the anticipated tasks is shown below.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end accounting journals for entities in the Barings Europe group.
• Prepare month end reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts and intercompany positions.
• To prepare intercompany recharge schedules, in particular in relation to amounts paid by UK entities on behalf of the group’s Luxembourg subsidiaries
• Liaise with accountants of overseas entities to help coordinate month end process.
• Review UK bank accounts for client money and reconciliations provided by Northern Trust
• Support internal and external audit process
• Fulfil additional, relevant, tasks appropriate to the role as may be required from time to time.

Person Specification

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Well organized
• Must be able to work independently while still functioning well in a team
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage to deadlines
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
