As a Barclays Python Software Developer, you’ll be part of the Risk and Analytics Equity Technology team, who oversee the delivery of technology initiatives around the core Equity Derivatives trading system to a variety of business areas: Front Office, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Product Control and Operations. The team are currently transforming our technology infrastructure in line with the bank’s strategic initiatives.

What will you be doing?
• Developing software for Index Research and Development solutions for the Quantitative Imvestment Stategies desk

• Gathering user requirements and documents, and revising systems functionalities for the Equities Derivatives trading desk
• Building relationships with Trading, Operations, and Finance clients, to support on their projects and finance reporting
• Providing tactical solutions such as development of index/position/risk management platforms, existing end user defined applications, or analysing large volumes of data
• Integrating RAD solutions into departmental strategic projects where needed
• Building Proof of Concepts of alternative architecture in the areas of UI/Server interaction, micro services and new distributed caching technologies
• Sharing expertise in specific technical areas to help other developers contribute to new proposed architecture or technologies adoption where needed

• Hands on development experience with focus on Python (Data analysis/Web development using Flask/Visualisation/interface/connectivity)
• Front end development experience using React, Vue, Angular with database knowledge such as Oracle, MSSQL, SQLite

• Experience automating systems using scripting languages including JavaScript, VB and/or Batch File Scripting
• Knowledge of C#/Java/functional programming
