As a Barclays Intraday Software Engineer you will be working within our Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT) Technology team, running the engineering function within our Beowulf Intraday team. You will oversee technical leads ensuring application development is coordinated efficiently across a diverse set of projects and initiatives, working closely with project management teams ensuring end-to-end software releases are both timely as well as of a high quality.

What will you be doing?
• Analysis, design, and software development across a range of projects in the Intraday Risk space

• Working together with the business, analysts, peers and project managers to understand and deliver requirements
• Ensuring that software designs are well documented and shared appropriately across the whole team
• Driving continuous improvement of processes
• Mentoring and supporting other team members where required
• Regular and frequent reporting on progress
• Ensuring adherence to technical standards & SDLC including quality measures

What we’re looking for:
• Good C++ and general programming skills

• Proven track record of developing large-scale high performance systems
• Background working in Finance, or other area with a significant focus on numerical data
• Experience and knowledge of Agile project management principals and practice

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience in investment banking, especially in markets

• Experience working with financial market risk data
• Understanding of Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange trading and products
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft tools, especially Excel
