As a Barclays Loan Strategist you will be responsible for forming the house view on HY bonds and leveraged loans and be the face of Barclays as it pertains to these views. What will you be doing?
• You will be setting the firms view on the European high yield and leveraged loan markets, with a focus on high yield

• Establishing forecasts for returns, supply, demand, defaults
• Maintaining actionable views on rating/duration/sector/country preference as well as other macro-related relative-value aspects
• Collaborating with the fundamental credit research team on, in particular, sector views
• Interacting extensively with credit trading and sales on our views and support these teams with actionable screens and intel
• Driving the high yield/leveraged loan section of the European Credit Alpha as well as longer articles on specific topics in credit
• Presenting these views in published research reports, at conferences and meetings with clients, as well as internally to stakeholders in sales, trading, banking
• Collaborating with broader research team – global credit, rates, economics and others – to create thought-provoking research pieces

What we’re looking for:
• Financial and quantitative analysis experience

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or other quantitative discipline
• Good analytical problem solving ability as well as excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Works well with and is comfortable communicating directly with all levels of the organisation

5 North Colonnade is home to our investment bank and is in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from our headquarters at Churchill Place.
