The opportunity:

Stellar Recruitment has been exclusively retained to secure a new General Manager Operations at Baralaba Coal Company. The vacancy has come about following the incumbent General Manager being recently promoted to CEO.

Baralaba produces circa 2MTPA PCI met coal with options currently being progressed to extend life well beyond 2036.

An owner’s team General Manager opportunity, the position has 6 direct s and responsibility for management of Life of Mine planning, mining contractor, haulage contractor, community / landowners’ relationships, mine rehabilitation and site environmental compliance, maintenance of Mine Owner supplied infrastructure and mining fleet, coal quality management and is also involved in coal marketing and pit to port logistics. The position therefore represents a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of running the mine through to the customer.

This is a site General Manager position however there will be a need to work in the Brisbane office on occasion.

Skills and experience required:

• qualified, preferably in a mining related discipline with statutory qualifications being an advantage
• mining background and can demonstrate a good understanding of the contractor business model.
• lead and motivate others, both direct and indirect subordinates and is motivated to deliver excellent outcomes.
