We are looking to expand our Tech Grad Programs at Bankwest by bringing recent graduates in to become key members of a squad within our Strategic Technology Adoption Platform with a focus on API development.

As part of the program, you’ll be a Tech Grad working in the agile team environment while benefiting from the additional grad program learning opportunities through both Bankwest and Commonwealth Bank, and supported by the awesome grad community!

See yourself in the team

We are building a Banking as a Services API layer across all entities of Commonwealth Bank that drives a wedge between our slow-moving systems of record and our experience layers that seek to innovate faster. These new BaaS microservices are designed to be a source of truth that while initially reliant on underlying systems of record, become more data- and logic-complete toward the goal of retiring the underlying systems of record.

We are starting with a single, consistent view of our customers across all lines of business. We’ll built this API layer as a product, focussing on value delivered to our customers with full build and run ownership.

We’re part of Strategic Technology Adoption – an internal platform within Bankwest, operating with a strong product mindset, working to streamline the developer experience.

As a Technology Graduate (API) you are:

We want you to have:

• An interest in developing your skills to become a full stack software engineer

• An interest in learning more about Automated Testing
• An interest in modern software engineering methodologies (Agile, Lean, DevOps, Continuous Delivery, UX)
• A strong desire to learn and grow new skills to become a valuable member of the team

We want you to be a recent or soon to be graduate with a degree or qualification in a tech area (e.g. computer science, information technology, software engineering etc).

You must have an Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency at the time you submit your application.
