Talent Acquisition Partner – Future Talent Team (12 month FTC)
– (007121)
The Bank of England is a diverse organisation. Each of its 4,000 plus people are committed to public service and dedicated to promoting the good of the people of the United Kingdom by maintaining monetary and financial stability.
The People & Culture Directorate of the Bank of England plays a pivotal role in helping to recruit, develop and retain the diverse talent that is needed to deliver against the Bank’s mission to promote the good of the people of the United Kingdom.
About the Role
Talent Acquisition and Development exists to support the Bank in the identification, selection, development of talent for current and future roles. The Department consists of 4 centres of expertise (Future Talent, Talent Acquisition -Experienced Hires, Talent & Engagement and Learning & Development). This role sits within the Future Talent Team, made up of 5 Future Talent Leads, each specialising in a different programme, a Future Talent Partner, and led by the Head of Future Talent. The team are supported by 2 Future Talent Administrators.
As the Talent Acquisition Partner for Talent Programmes you will be the recruiter and subject matter expert for recruiting into our Career Returners Programme and managing the programme itself. The Career Returners’ Programme is unique to the Bank and we are moving into our fourth year. Due to its continued success we are expanding the programme. The role forms part of our Future Talent Team and will work closely with the Talent Acquisition Team (Experienced Hires) to ensure we provide as many opportunities as possible, both during the programme and onwards.
The Career Returners Programme itself is a 6 months placement for colleagues joining the Bank, typically two cohorts a year of approximately 50 new joiners per cohort and we are looking to continually innovate and improve the offering going forward. The Programme commenced with one business area initially in 2018 and due to its success has now extended to a Bank-wide programme. In 2022 the programme involved 15 business areas and we are looking to increase our intake and provide further support as part of the programme to our colleagues.
This is a great chance to work with our multiple business areas and our partner company to ensure the Programme is promoted through our social channels and career pages whilst working closely with them to ensure we are able to attract the best possible candidates, and managing the full end to end resourcing/recruitment strategy. The role holder will be able to utilise their expertise to consolidate and centralise the development programme, ensuring staff are supported throughout. As the central point of expertise, you will be the business areas’ key contact point for both recruitment and development for staff on the programme.
Although the primary focus for this role will be on managing the Career Returners programme, we are looking to consolidate the range of Talent Programmes we offer across the organisation. It is envisaged this role will also take on ownership of the African-Caribbean Sponsorship Programme, internal staff Sponsorship Programme, and will be able to leverage their expertise to ensure we have the right programmes in place to support progression for new and existing staff.
We are currently looking to bring someone into the team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The role is a busy and varied one, responsible for recruiting a wide range of roles and managing the ongoing programme itself. Specific areas of responsibility include:
Minimum (Essential) Requirements
We are open to considering candidates who are not experienced recruiters or development experts, but have had exposure to volume recruitment or talent programme management. We are also committed to providing training on systems and processes, so there is not an expectation that you would already have this knowledge.
Desirable Requirements
The Bank values diversity and inclusion – we want to reflect the society we serve better, we want the best people to work for us and we want our workplace to be inclusive. We value all forms of diversity, including but not limited to age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religion and sexual orientation. One way we support diversity and inclusion is through our staff-run networks, which are summarised here.
We are fully committed to having a diverse and inclusive working environment, and are open to considering how the role might be carried out with flexible working. This role is therefore open to flexible working patterns.
Where a role can be carried out from home, we are working towards colleagues spending at least half of their time in the office, so that we can all benefit from working together in person, while maintaining the flexibility offered by home working. From 6 June 2022, we expect colleagues to spend a minimum of 40% of their working time in the office per month. Subject to that minimum requirement, individuals and managers should work together to find what works best for them and their team.
We are also committed to making adjustments for candidates and employees where possible, and have partnered with external expert organisations to support us in this. We are a member of the Disability Confident scheme, summarised here, and people who wish to apply under this scheme should check the box in the ‘Candidate Personal Information’ under the ‘Disability Confident Scheme’ section of the application.
We anonymise applications so hiring managers will not be able to see your personal information when reviewing your submission, including your CV. Please fully complete the application form questions as requested, as any incomplete submissions may not be reviewed.
The Bank of England is a distinctive institution and our rewards are one of the things that set us apart. As well as enjoying a competitive salary you will work in a collaborative, inclusive environment, with a subsidised restaurant, flexible working opportunities and plenty of wellbeing initiatives.
This specific role offers a base salary of circa £45,900 – £49,000 per annum, along with our comprehensive benefits package as follows:
The closing date for applications is 8 July 2022.
Please apply online, ensuring that you answer the application questions, complete the work history and submit your CV.
