Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the incumbent is responsible for shipping product and ensuring orders are complete when shipped, reporting any problems to the Production manager.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for quality control of cabinets coming off the production line

2. Responsible for wrapping cabinets for loading and unloading kitchen cabinets from trucks.

3. Preparing orders to ship and checking packing slip, marking on packing slip that each part is accounted for. Double checking each order to make sure order is complete.

4. Loading cabinets and protecting them so no shipping damage can occur

5. Packaging orders and service parts.

6. Coordinate shipping orders for Acorn orders including generating load sheets, invoices and packing slips, schedule shipping with appropriate carrier and ensure Accounting is given all the documentation for invoicing.

7. Responsible for receiving and signing for all shipments including verifying parcels, pc counts and items match the packing slips, labeling parts with the corresponding PO# and distributing parts to the correct department.

8. Keeping shipping area clean and orderly.

9. Unloading assembly lines and moving kitchen cabinets to shipping area.

10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

1. Strong oral communication is required. Regular communication takes place with internal contacts that requires the exchange of detailed information and diplomacy so as to develop and maintain relationships to enhance work flow and work quality.

2. Ability to solve routine problems by following clear directions and procedures.

3. Ability to proactively address issues, be self directed and operate within specific objectives under a tight schedule that can change.

4. High School diploma is required along with previous experience within the industry. A fork lift license would be an asset.

5. Ability to perform basic level administrative tasks to follow the production schedule.

6. Basic analytical reasoning skills are required to analyze parts, with the ability to recognize any drilling pattern out of the ordinary.

7. Intermediate technical skills required to operate machinery in the plant, make necessary production changes, recognize which materials are being used and have a familiarity with different species of wood and an understanding of how the machine works.

8. Basic computer skill is required in order to navigate through files and folders and some software training is provided in house.

9. Basic numeric/mathematical skills are required in order to do addition, subtraction and reading of measurements.

Mental Effort

· Mental effort required to handle constant routine activities with a high level of repetition with occasional changes to the work pattern.

Physical Effort

· Physical effort required for working in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, performing repetitive tasks requiring manual coordination and dexterity. A typical day consists of a combination of extended standing, walking and bending with no sitting.

· This position requires lifting and moving of kitchen cabinets and stacking cabinets onto trucks.

Working Conditions

· Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment and throughout a plant and warehouse with hazards that are identified and assessed.

· Work is completed in a mixture of extended walking and standing and bending positions with lifting of products and materials up to 40 pounds is required.

Type of Supervision Received

Reports directly to the Production Manager. The Shipper follows policies and procedures and may set priorities and organize work within general guidelines as established by the Manager.

Type of Supervision and/or Assistance Given

The Shipper is not responsible for supervising other employees.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $34,710.00-$51,681.00 per year
