The Role and Team

The Data Architect (DA) defines the architectural approach for the data platform, working primarily with Product Owners and platform Architects. The DA ensures the SportsBook Platform’s architecture and technologies are appropriate and synchronizes technology frameworks in line with Ballys Interactive’ overall technical strategy.

The DA is responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing an organization’s data platform strategy for on premise traditional systems as well as cloud. The DA will work closely with both data engineering teams and external teams such as the gaming platform teams – ensuring there is clarity on agreed approaches and the right level of definition and governance for the type of work being undertaken.

The DA defines how data will be moved, stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data producers and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities:
Provide expertise in Enterprise IT, Databases, and Cloud technologies, and liaise with senior Tech leadership, in both Cloud and hosted environments.

Be deployed across multiple projects simultaneously, as well as being a key contributor to best practices, and solutions for delivering advanced analytics projects.

Be tasked with providing both current and future strategies for cloud data architecture and scalability.

Work closely with the engineering teams to advise on data integration or transfer practicality.

Work in tandem with our information security team in defining data security practices.

Key Result Areas

Creates mapping specifications for integrating disparate data.

Drives innovations aligned with emerging technologies and data trends.

Research, present and accurately articulate benefits, and goals of technologies such as GCP, Apache Beam/Spark/Flink, data virtualization, and data services.

Determines data model structural requirements by analysing operations, applications, and programming.

Design and document data flows and integration flows between applications.

Communicates highly complex ideas and concepts to non-technical peers and customers.

Ensures Gamesys data architectural solutions are stable, secure, and compliant with Gamesys and required industry standards and practices.

Works successfully with platform architects across the business to define cross-cutting solutions in line with our technical strategy.

Ensures the data and platform teams are aligned on a common approach.

Assists in the creation and compliance of data classification models.

What You Bring

Knowledge of a variety of database solutions including NoSQL, RDBMS.

Expert knowledge of both Data Streaming and Batch architectures.

Expert knowledge of Cloud Technologies.

Good understanding of data security and governance issues.

Domain knowledge of distributed architecture/messaging systems.

Experience in leading large global data migrations and integration efforts.

Experience in leading technical migration, data integration and consolidation activities from traditional to the new platform.

Knowledge of the agile software development life cycle; software project management approaches; and requirements capture, design disciplines, and test techniques.

Self motivated with forward-thinking to lead the change.

Be a catalyst to bring people together for a common vision.

Strong documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills and the ability to interact with all levels of stakeholders, support personnel, and clients.
